Synopsis:
The field of epigenetics is currently experiencing an exponential growth phase and the demand for books on this topic is very high. Moreover, the international interest in epigenetics is the strongest it has ever been. Countries such as China, France, Germany, Canada, Russia, Italy, Australia, Japan, Switzerland, Sweden, Spain and Great Britain have increasingly published in epigenetics and this area of science is clearly of global interest. Further, the NIH has recently made epigenetics one of its focus areas and has developed a number of new initiatives in funding in this area. Therefore, the need for extant comprehensive volumes not only on the underlying basis of epigenetics and human disease but also means of epigenetic therapy is rapidly growing. This book differs from the other books on epigenetics in that it provides the most comprehensive update on the role of epigenetics in human disorders. It also will consist of side-by-side chapters on epigenetic therapy advances along with basic breakthroughs. In addition, it covers established epigenetic diseases as well as disorders that have only recently been shown to have an epigenetic component. This will allow not only for a valuable source of information on known diseases but also a cutting edge source that summarizes the most recent advances in terms of diseases that are just now emerging as epigenetic-based diseases.
